You have made running Vintage Cravens the past few years an absolutely wonderful experience and for this I thank you! I am excited to announce the next step in the journey my business: a brand new name that aligns with the vision laid on my heart for this company.
Since last summer when I took my first vitreous enameling class, I've been falling steadily in love with this wonderful medium and began to see a different path for Vintage Cravens. The dreams God has laid on my heart for this business are to encourage and inspire others through the work of my hands and to feed as many kids as possible through Hands Against Hunger. Right about now, you may be asking yourself what in the world this has to do with gables and why on earth 10?
My husband, Mark, is an architect and he spent many years designing our home starting with the light. Inside, he has laid out a floor plan which consists of rooms like closets and bathrooms built to the interior walls of our home and different ceiling heights to add interest. This has allowed every room to be filled with windows and beautiful light many days of the year. As a result, we have a unique roof structure which consists of three hip rooves and, you guessed it, 10 gables! We have been extremely blessed by God to live in such a beautiful town as Lebanon and we love our home. We truly believe God has called us to be light in this world and this is our home base to serve others.
I toyed with several layouts for the new logo of 10 Gables including several options for gables, text, etc. After feedback from several people, I decided to scrap the idea of including gables as part of the design for the logo namely because it made the name feel like a contracting company :) So, why the nasturtium? It all goes back to our home again. I love gardening and medicinal herbs are my favorite flowers. Right now, I'm working on a new jewelry product line to launch in August, but I am also experimenting with enamel products made especially for the home. I'm very excited about both and can't wait to share more!
With all of these things coming together and the way light flows through some enamels on metal, 10 Gables is truly the best name for this company going forward. Who knows, maybe Mark will even begin developing products, too!
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart,
