It started three years ago for me: the notion of choosing one word to inspire an entire year. My One Word is a ministry dedicated to the un-resolution: that change is possible, but focus is required. It's simple: decide what kind of person you want to become, identify characteristics of that person and pick a word for the year. Learn more and choose your one word here!
Beginning in 2014, I started with the word 'moxie' for developing courage, 2015 was about 'grace,' particularly graceful speech, and 2016 was about 'treasure' as in the Matthew 13:45-46 kind. For 2017, I decided to go with 'simplicity.' Why? A few months ago, our pastor was giving a series of lessons inspired by a summer sabbatical. One of the chapters in the Bible we looked very closely at was Acts 2 and verse 46 struck a chord with me:

It's about the daily life of a Christian in community with one another, but also about attitude. The last part of this verse, simplicity of heart, really resonated with me. To me, simplicity of heart is taking some serious steps to de-clutter mentally, physically, and most important, soulfully.
What about you? If you've decided 2017 will be the year of un-resolution for you, what's your one word? I'd love to hear from you!
