Spring Moon

"With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon, who could not be happy?" - Oscar Wilde

Spring brings warmth, renewal, and beautiful moons. When I found this gorgeous Tahitian mother of pearl button in an antique jar, I knew I wanted to make an heirloom sterling silver necklace with it. Our flower beds were starting to wake up on one chilly spring evening while Mark and I sat on the back porch watching a moonrise. The vision was cast and 'Spring Moon' is the result.

The necklace also features a die struck sterling silver floral component using a replica of antique tooling from the early 1900s. I use a hydraulic press to reimagine these beautiful items from the past into modern fine art jewelry. It's so humbling to be a part of a historical line of fine jewelers using these tiny elements in my own pieces.

'Spring Moon' is featured at the 2026 Woman's Art Club of Cincinnati Signature Members Exhibition at ARTclectic Gallery in Silverton from May 7-27.
