Together

 The piece is inspired by the notion of seeds within each of us. Gathering together in community strengthens us. We weren't meant to be alone and well-chosen friends can encourage us to reach our true potential. Being a metalsmith, Proverbs 27:17 is one of my favorites: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Are you surrounding yourself with people who can help you rise?

  

This piece was made by hand by me in Lebanon, Ohio. The rare Peruvian opal was cut from old stock mined in the Andes mountains. I love the way this stone has its own story to tell, much like us. From there, small floral elements were painstakingly sawn and filed into sterling silver. These tiny pieces were embellished, formed, and layered using hand tools and torches to become the jewelry you see here.
